By the time Tay decided he was ready to go home, I was so looking forward to going back to my quiet place with just April and Tay for company. We picked up the clothes from Threads and Needles and walked back home.

The walk itself was pleasant. It had rained while we shopped, it looked like, and the air was crisp with the scent of rain like it was most of the time in Mistvale.

"Did you know," Tay started, turning to look at me as we walked before continuing, "the reason it rains so much here is because of the dragon your friend is mated to? He's a storm dragon, so he controls the weather, the skies of this town."

"Really? I asked, surprise coloring my voice. I'd just assumed it was how the weather of Mistvale was. The thought that it could be connected to something supernatural had never crossed my mind. But then again, it should have.

There was a reason this place attracted so many of the supernatural kind, wasn't there? Maybe it was the fact that the town was looked over by a dragon, one of the oldest and most respected supernaturals out there. Or maybe it was the fact that this place was just so accepting of everyone, irrespective of their color or what they looked like or who they kissed in the middle of a shopping center.

Mistvale was a beautiful town and I was yet again struck by how lucky I had been to end up here. This town had brought me to my semnyar and that in itself made it the best place to be.

A hoot made me break out of my thoughts and I looked up at the sky and smiled when I spotted April flying above us. I gave her a wave and then brought up my arm for her to land on, glad that I had donned my jacket before leaving.

With another soft hoot, April flew down to us and perched herself on my arm. She eyed me for a moment before turning to look at Tay, who was watching us with his usual smile. Then April turned back to me and sent me a picture through our mental bond. It was a picture of Tay wearing a jacket similar to mine and smiling while April perched on his arm.
